Little hands put to work shelling peas given to us yesterday evening.

We're making mame gohan in our rice cooker. This is the recipe according to my friend. 3 cups rice, 2 tablespoons sake, 1 teaspoon Japanese dashi, 2 teaspoons salt, water as indicated for three cups of rice and fresh (or frozen) peas, about 2 cups.

I hope it works out.

  2. It was OK thanks Jan. I didn't measure the salt, but it was more like a teaspoon. I put dashi but I won't next time, probably tomorrow as we have a lot left.
Little Guy was excellent at shelling, Biggie joined in late in the piece and his went flying everywhere.
