We love camping!

We're back from our first camping trip and it was FANTASTIC! We all had a great time and are keen to go again as soon possible (we'll see).

The location was perfect for novice campers like us. Each site was separated from the neighbouring site by hedges; we each had our own concreted parking spot right in front, we even had a power point. There was a clean toilet, coin-operated showers and a communal sink area. There were plenty of drink vending machines and even one that sold ice.

Our site was excellent in that it was the second to last in the row meaning only our two nearest neighbors even had to walk down our end of the camp. Plus we had the benefit of a tall shady tree which kept us cool until late afternoon. Our neighbours were very quiet early-to-bed types like us which we realised was a huge plus. The other end of the camp was like Grand Central Station until quite late at night - I bet they hated us in the morning! Biggie was up at 4.55am the first morning!

We had lovely weather the whole time, although it did rain once or twice, we were well prepared. It cooled everything down nicely anyway. Most of the time it was hot and sunny. Unfortunately we had been led to believe there would be a river to swim in and there was not which was the only negative of the site.

So, we're all very tired and I am ashamed to admit I got a touch of the sun yesterday. We are heading to bed early again tonight.

  1. Yay, I'm so glad it all went well. We had a lovely camping trip at the start of the year (summer for us). Tiring but the little boys loved it. Sounds like the perfect camping spot with little ones. Don't need it to be too hard work! Lou.

  4. I was thinking of you this weekend, was it as Glam as you hoped? Half the fun for us is trying out the different camp sites, at the end of each camp we compare it to the others and decide which is number one :o) We usually go in September too, 3 day holidays work well for us.
