I was so lucky today. I received two gifts from my students in the Gentlemen's Class. These pretty watercolour postcards were done by one of them. Aren't they gorgeous? I think I really like the red onion best. Or the persimmon. The packaging was so thoughtful - a piece of Japanese washi paper secured with a French stamp.

A couple of weeks ago we talked about travelling and language study. These men have all travelled extensively both in their careers and for personal leisure. I mentioned my love of France so I was very touched by the stamp.

The other little present was this homemade walnut and raisin bread! Made especially for me! It was so delicious. I probably could have done with less butter ... but with the 'homemade' New Zealand honey it was blissful.

I was in the most splendid mood after my morning.
