Today's delicious treat - a new version of Louise Cake, which is an old-fashioned recipe.
Usual recipe - shortbread base, slathered with raspberry jam and a coconut topping.

Mine has delicious homemade apricot jam (from my lovey friend M). It was amazing! I've eaten a fair bit of it myself. Luckily I have swimming tonight to counteract the calories.

    I stumbled on your blog, and have followed on and off for a few months. I just want to say that I think you are brave and amazing to have created a life for yourself in Japan. I'm sorry that you feel like you don't fit in at times. I understand a bit of how you feel. Just know that you have many friends out in the blog world :-). Your boys are lucky to have you as their mother. If they don't realize it now, they will when they get a bit older :-).
